Teachers who oppose the CA education budget cuts, approved by Schwarzenegger and the L.A. Unified superintendent, gather L.A downtown and rally to rise their voices. The rally starts from Beaudry Avenue to the nearby Reagan State Office Building. They ciriticize the budget cuts and worry the consequences- layoff teachers, larger classes, and less assessment for students.
As a response for the rally, the state government issue a statement, saying there is no choice but only tighten its belt because of the economic downturn.

  1. This article, about teachers from the LA area opposing state and local cuts on education, is authoritative because it discusses both sides of the argument. First, the author talks about the teacher's side to the cuts in education; then he talks about Arnold Schwarzenegger's side. The people want these cuts to disappear because not only are the teachers out of a job; in the end it is hurting the students futures. If the teachers lose their jobs then that means they may not be able to find another one; so they may be in a lot of debts, or worse they can be evicted from there home. The students would be getting penalized because if there are fewer teachers at a school then that means less teacher to student time, which can effect the students grade.
